Bernard Fanning

Bernard Fanning, has long lent his support to Youngcare as it is a cause close to his heart.

“Music speaks a language of hope and fits so beautifully into the Youngcare message which is one of dignity, fairness and courage. lt is a message that resonates not only with the residents of the Apartments that Youngcare creates, but also their families, the staff, and you, its supporters. Of course it is vital that we recognise the ongoing need of the thousands of young people around the country who require full time care,” Bernard Fanning.

“The thought that an event, an accident, an illness could change your life is hard enough to manage but to have no appropriate place that's suitably equipped for you to live is too much to bear. That's why I'm working with Youngcare to help young people with high care requirements find a place they can call home,” Darren Palmer.

Liz Ellis

Liz is one of Australia’s highest profile elite athletes and most successful netballers ever.  She surpassed the record for most test matches played for Australia in 2005 and captained the Sydney Swifts and Australian Netball Team until her retirement in 2007 after leading the Australian Netball Team to World Championship gold.  She is still Australia's most capped netballer, playing 122 matches for her country.

Liz is a highly successful and experienced broadcaster. Appearing on television and radio as a sports commentator and presenter, she has been seen on Fox Sports and SBS2 during the 2013 netball season.  Liz’s articulate and engaging wit and down to earth manner has also seen her in demand on many entertainment programs on both radio and TV.  Liz has also enjoyed broadcasting for ABC Local radio.

"When I first heard about Shevaune Conry, I thought there but for the grace of god go I. We are the same age, and so her story really struck a chord with me.  I couldn't believe that there were no facilities to look after young people with high care needs, other than aged care facilities, which were inappropriate for the needs of young people.  So I decided to become involved, and do what I could to help Youngcare raise awareness of the issue. Youngcare have proved to be a dynamic, energetic organisation that reflects their constituents, and as a result they have made life better for young people with high care needs."

Jaynie Seal

"I have had the privilege to work alongside Youngcare for the past couple of years. My most rewarding part of my job in television is to be able to connect with organisations like Youngcare to spread the word of their amazing work and to meet down to earth, caring and kind hearted spirits. I approached Youngcare letting them know I am available to help in anyway possible," she said.

Josh Minogue

“I think most people agree that aged care is no place for a young person. I can’t even begin to imagine the hardship the over 7,000 young Aussies living in aged care face. It’s not much of a life and they deserve so much better. That’s why I am motivated to support Youngcare in any way I can.”

“Youngcare means so much to me. The work they do, the people they support, what Youngcare stands for, they are very close to my heart. Working for Youngcare was the greatest and most fulfilling job I’ve ever had. I love that now in my career, I can help them to raise awareness of the over 7,000 young Aussie’s living in aged care. We can do better. As a country, as a community, we can set this right but we must make everyone aware of this injustice. I truly believe that Youngcare will be the driver of real change for the better.”
