Right now, there are over 6,500 young Australians with high care needs living in aged care - simply because there are very limited alternatives. (The Senate Community Affairs Reference Committee 2005)

A further 700,000 young people are being cared for at home by family and friends (Australian Institute of Health and Welfare 2007).

All young people deserve young lives. This issue affects Australians nation-wide, and Youngcare aims to create awareness to drive change and create real choices for young Australians with full-time care needs.
