The Trekking Begins!
The eager Trekkers left camp this morning at 6:45am – with ideal trekking conditions of a cool breeze and great walking conditions (for all the sand dunes!). The goal for today is 30kms and it will be one of the toughest days of the Challenge, up and down 50m sand dunes all day!
Everyone is in good spirits after their first night under the stars and keen to start the epic journey. They are expected to reach camp between 5 – 6pm this evening.
Group consensus from the drive out to the first camp last night “Darren’s choice in music when in charge of the radio requires serious attention”.
Once they check in this evening, they will be able to give us GPS points so that we will be able to track on Google Earth!
