The issue of inappropriate care and housing options for young Australians with full-time care needs is broad and complex and has gone unaddressed for far too long.

Youngcare’s philosophy to solving this issue is one of collaboration. There is no one solution and Youngcare’s varied work reflects this:

• Raising Awareness of the issue on a national level to drive change and create real choices in care options
• At Home Care Grants to assist young people living with disabilities to stay at home for as long as possible in the care of loved ones
• Youngcare Connect to provide information and support to young people with full-time care needs, their carers, friends and family
• Lobbying for policy change to address the gap in the Australian health care sector that has gone unaddressed for far too long
• Fundraising through partnerships and key stakeholder events to fund Youngcare’s work
• Research to more comprehensively understand the issues faced by young people with high care needs
• Housing to provide appropriate options
