FAQs

What makes the Youngcare Apartments different?

Youngcare believes that young people deserve to live young, dignified and relevant lifestyles, regardless of their care needs. While the Youngcare Apartments provide an appropriate environment, the apartments are more than a building; it’s also about the delivery of care, appropriate to the needs of young people with full-time care needs. Youngcare does not provide medical care or support so we partner with care providers who meet our standard of care expectations.

What kind of people live in the Youngcare Apartments?

The Youngcare Apartments provide for those who have full-time care needs as a result of a catastrophic injury or illness such as Multiple Sclerosis, Acquired Brain Injuries, Motor Neurons, Huntington’s Disease and early onset dementia, just to name a few.

What is the Youngcare care philosophy?

The Youngcare care model aims to set new and innovative standards in residential care for young people. Youngcare believes that young people deserve to live young, dignified and relevant lifestyles, regardless of their care needs. Youngcare does not provide medical care or support so we partner with care providers who meet our standard of care expectations.

Our care philosophy is centred around:

  • The young and the young at heart deserve to live young lives
  • Institutionalised care is an inappropriate environment for young people
  • Young people with 24/7 care needs require care appropriate to their individual needs
  • Care should be delivered with a person-centered approach that extends to ensuring an appropriate lifestyle for a young person
  • That government standards of care relating to young people with 24/7 care needs should be met and exceeded
