Recruiting Red Racers for the Sun-Herald City2Surf
Youngcare is calling on sporty supporters to put their fitness and fundraising skills to the test as part of the exclusive Youngcare Red Racer team in the 2012 Sun-Herald City2Surf fun run on August 12.
This year, Youngcare has 11 ‘Gold Charity’ positions available in the City2Surf in Sydney for runners wishing to make fundraising their focus of the event.
It might be one of the biggest (therefore, most exciting) runs in the world, but as a Red Racer you will be joining an exclusive team of Youngcare supporters, running in the name of young Australians with high care needs.
Best of all, there will be a very special prize waiting at the finish line for the highest fundraiser: a signed and framed Bernard Fanning song sheet.
For one of these red-hot positions, you must be committed to raising a minimum of $750. These spots won’t last! To become a Red Racer, please contact Bronwyn Glass on (07) 3041 3400 or at firstname.lastname@example.org

Live in Sydney? Into sport?
Sydney’s Slide lounge is gearing up again for its quarterly Sportsman’s Lunch on March 9, this time putting on a generous feast in support of Youngcare and young people with high care needs.
Featuring Nine’s Wide World of Sports presenter Tim Gilbert and Rugby League great Ricky Stuart, the event will incorporate a three course meal, three-hour beverage package, and entertainment, with all proceeds from ticket sales being donated to Youngcare.
If you’re a businessman or sportsman in the Sydney area, go to http://slide.com.au/shows/slide-sportsmans-lunch/ for more information or to purchase tickets.
Youngcare would like to extend a huge thanks to Slide for supporting its mission to get young people out of aged care facilities.
Call out for auction items
The ever-popular Bruce Lynton Charity Ball on the Gold Coast is fast approaching and Youngcare is very grateful to have been named a beneficiary once again, alongside Cancer Council Queensland, Guide Dogs Queensland and Surf Life Saving.
Taking place on April 21, the black-tie event is a highlight on the Gold Coast social calendar, with Mark Seymor, formally of Hunters and Collectors, topping this year’s entertainment line-up.
As well as live music, other highlights of the night will include the Grand Auction and Silent Auction, for which Youngcare is currently seeking prize donations. In particular, Youngcare is in need of silent auction item donations (items above RRP$100) and grand auction item donations (items above RRP$7,500).
Both auctions provide a great platform for individuals and businesses to show their support for Youngcare. And all funds raised will help Youngcare to continue its work to provide greater choice in care and housing options.
