It’s only thanks to Youngcare’s wonderful supporters that we help to create real choices in care options for young Australians with 24/7 care needs.
Our volunteers come from all walks of life, with varying backgrounds and skill sets. Some are professional accountants, some are on leave from work, and some are parents looking to fill their time while their kids are at school. If you would like to help make a difference and gain a great sense of purpose, then volunteering with Youngcare could be the answer.
There are two areas of volunteering work at Youngcare. The first is “professional” and this involves people using their professional skills, such as accountants, journalists, tradespeople etc (these opportunities are limited). The other area is our “general” area, and this is broken down into four sections:
- Events: covers supporters who are interested in any volunteer work to do with events such as gift wrapping, assisting with BBQs, collecting raffle tickets, shaking tins etc;
- Resident Assistance: for supporters offering to do volunteer work directly with the residents at the Apartments (these opportunities are rare due to the professional support team we have at the Apartments);
- Administration: for supporters who are willing to do some volunteer work in the Youngcare office, including duties like filing and accounts support; and
- General: for supporters who are willing to do a range of volunteer work, from shaking a tin at an event to helping out at the Apartments
