At Home Care Grant applications NOW OPEN in South Australia
Home Soon Grants
As our Youngcare Connect Team continues to advocate for young people with high care needs we’ve been focusing on influencing housing, health and disability policy throughout the country. Youngcare was delighted to notify a very deserving young man and his family that their Home Soon Grant application was successful following a panel in September 2016.
Youngcare’s Home Soon Grants, proudly supported by Suncorp Insurance provide funding between $5,000 and $20,000 (up to $50,000 in extenuating circumstances) for essential equipment, home modifications and respite services to enable a young person to exit aged care and transition back to their community.
Representing Suncorp Insurance, Home Soon Grant panellist, Roslyn Savage writes: “It was a truly humbling experience to provide young people with appropriate accommodation and care within their community. To be able to be a part of Youngcare’s program and see the amazing work they do makes me proud to come to work every day.”
At Home Care Grants
We are incredibly excited to expand our At Home Care Grants (AHCG) program to South Australia in November, and support more young Aussies with high care needs than ever before to avoid admission into aged care.
The expansion into South Australia is made possible thanks to AAMI and our Youngcare Foundation Partner, Suncorp Insurance, which was warmly welcomed at the launch held at Caulfield Cup Race Day in October. AHCG provide one-off funding between $2,000 and $10,000 to help those aged 18-65 with high care needs who are living at home, and are at risk of entering aged care.
Help us spread the word! Youngcare’s AHCG applications are open in South Australia from 2 November, closing on 14 December 2016. Visit youngcare.com.au/ahcg for details.
