Ready for a challenge?
In 2017 Youngcare is offering TWO once-in-a-lifetime adventures – tackling the Simpson Desert or conquering the Great Wall of China. Both treks will be a physical and mental challenge, each day walking many kilometres, but every step you take will help Youngcare work towards our mission of ensuring that no young Aussie has to wake up in aged care. Which challenge will you choose?
Simpson Desert Challenge
It’s the ultimate Australian adventure challenge, conquering a vast, rugged landscape with harsh weather whilst walking more than 250km across the Simpson Desert. The completely isolated environment provides a striking reflection of the challenges that young people with high care needs face on a daily basis.

Great Wall of China Challenge
On this challenging adventure, you’ll be taken out of your comfort zone – just like young Aussies living with high care needs. Travel through history, trekking narrow ridges and steep steps on the Great Wall for up to five hours a day. Then, swap the majesty of the Wall for the bustle of Beijing a nd discover the ancient history of the Forbidden City and Tiananmen.
