Volunteer visits – Wooloowin Share House
Lily, Olivia and Jack Camilleri visited the Youngcare Wooloowin Share House on Saturday, 5 March.
Lily and Olivia baked a brownie with Jenna who was a whiz on the whisker. Brian was the supervisor and enjoyed the aromas from the melted chocolate.
Whilst we were waiting for the brownie to bake, the children battled with Jenna on Wii Sports. Jenna is an “ace” at tennis and a fierce competitor. Her wit and enjoyment for the game was enjoyed by all. Jack asked if he could use the guitar at the house to play a couple of songs for Brian. He played Mission Impossible and a couple of other tunes.
It was lovely to meet the housemates and spend some time with them. We also thoroughly enjoyed the company of the carers, Elham and Rene – the pair of them are amazing! The whole aim of our visit was for a little respite for the housemates, but to ensure our children have the ability to demonstrate compassion.
We look forward to spending more time at the house over the coming months!
