Youngcare Townsville
Youngcare’s Townsville housing is the first step to making a real and viable impact in the North Queensland region.
There are currently 2,500 young Queenslanders with high care needs living in inappropriate housing, 318 of those eligible for Specialised Disability Accommodation reside in Townsville. Youngcare’s Townsville Development has come at a vital time for the disability housing sector in Queensland, where the need for age-appropriate housing and care is critically high.
The development forms part of Townsville’s latest residential development, Brookstone on the Park; an integrated housing community that includes 1 x 2 bedroom and 1 x 3 bedroom fully accessible townhouse for young people with high care needs. Each dwelling is equipped with the latest technology and equipment, ensuring the residents can live with independence and dignified care.
Stage one comprises of two townhouses (1 x 2 bedroom and 1 x 3 bedroom), with a separate care pod for 24 hour onsite and overnight care support for young people with high physical care needs. The housing has easy access to all facilities including the Ring Road, public transport and The Townsville Hospital with development proposed to commence late 2019.
We are proud to have partnered with well-known local builder, Martin Locke, for building accessible housing for young people with high care needs in Townsville.
