Youngcare and Horizon Housing have partnered to build a second stage development neighbouring the existing Youngcare High Care Housing solution at Wooloowin to create more age-appropriate, accessible housing in the community. The land was generously donated by the Queensland State Government, and the development will provide up to 6 independent living spaces for young people aged 18-65 with high physical care needs.
Both Youngcare and Horizon Housing pride themselves on delivering the highest possible standard of living to allow young people to live with choice, independence and dignity.

About the Project
The Detail
The development will consist of 3 x 2 bedroom (1 bedroom + study) townhouses and a 4 bedroom home (3 high care bedrooms and 1 x carer room). The 3 bedroom home will have the flexibility to house a family or to be used as a share house for three young people with high care needs.
Why Build?
There is a profound need for appropriate disability housing in the community. Right now, 50 young people enter aged care every week and 12,000 young Australians currently live in inappropriate housing because there is nowhere else for them to go.
Who is Eligible?
A person must have SDA funding in their NDIS plan at the high physical support, apartment (single occupancy) or shared accommodation category OR be likely to have this funding in their plan. For more information contact us.
