Conversations on the lawn

Overlooking Sydney Harbour on a balmy night in February, some of Sydney’s biggest thinkers and decision makers came together for Youngcare’s inaugural Conversations on the Lawn event.

The night was an opportunity for speakers and guests from across the business, community and government sectors to collaborate and bring fresh thinking on how real change can be effected for young Aussies with high care needs – and what fantastic insights there were!

Did you know, it would cost $2.5 billion to move every single one of the 7,000 young people currently in aged care accommodation into age-appropriate living environments? It’s a huge goal but one we believe can be achieved, however, one organisation, or even one sector, can’t do it alone.

We need to work collaboratively with builders and developers, bankers, investors, consultants, insurers and architects to develop ideas and solutions regarding how to build, equip and support living environments that young people with high care needs would CHOOSE to live in, comfortably and safely.
