Sinnamon Park

Where the Youngcare story began

It had all started with the simple yet powerful belief that young people with high care needs do not belong in aged care.

On 8 December, 2007 the doors opened to Youngcare’s first building project at Sinnamon Park, Brisbane and a revolution truly took hold.

The Youngcare Wesley Mission Queensland Apartments pioneered a new approach to independent living. The 17 residents have independence to live their lives the way they want and receive dignified and age-appropriate care delivered by Wesley Mission Brisbane.

Did you know?In 2011, resident Linda was determined to be able to walk unassisted to see her daughter compete in the London Olympic Games in 2012. She hit the apartment gym every day – logging kilometre after kilometre to ensure she achieved her goal. You can help give this choice to more young Aussies

The apartments offer a spacious living area and bedroom, an individual terrace or balcony, generous bathroom and full-size kitchen and air conditioning and fans.

Residents benefit from video links to family and friends, automatic door entry with proximity card readers and self-opening and closing doors, individual intercoms, a 24-hour on-call nurse and ceiling mounted track and hoist system to provide access from the bedroom to the living area.

There are also communal spaces, including a BBQ area and a guest room for family and friends to stay the night.
