Youngcare and De Luca Charitable Foundation have partnered to build an innovative Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) that caters to the physical and aspirational needs of young people with disabilities. The project is responding to a significant need for housing for people with disabilities on the Sunshine Coast, with 102 people eligible for SDA, but a shortfall of 78% in the area.
Supported living in this high-quality SDA home will have a life-changing benefit to not only the residents, but their families and networks. This project will enable young people to live young lives, in quality housing of their choice; improving both their mental and physical health.
Dedicated 24-hour care will allow the residents to rehabilitate in a comfortable and focused environment. Through home automation the residents will have increased independence and safety, impacting their confidence and quality of life. Each resident will receive 24-hour, dignified care, with privacy a high priority.
With the second-to-none location and vital services close-by, residents will see their connection with community increase and improve significantly. Friends and family will be eager to visit these homes that encourage personalization and flexibility; enabling residents to live the young lives that they deserve.
