Rugby heaven!

Housemate Brian with the South African Bulls

8 March 2017

Rugby heaven!

It might have been in the middle of a scorching heatwave, but the inaugural Global Rugby Tens on 11-12 February did not disappoint, and Youngcare was thrilled to be part of it!

As the official Charity Partner for the event, our staff and volunteers spent the weekend selling raffle tickets and raising much needed funds to address Australia’s severe shortage of age-appropriate care and housing for young people with high care needs.

With 28 games played over the weekend and more than 300 players from around the world, Duco Events ran a slick tournament with just under 30,000 tickets sold. New Zealand team, the Chiefs took out the competition, defeating the Crusaders 12-5 to win the beautiful trophy designed by local jewellers Wallace Bishop.
