YOU are making a real difference
Vital grant funding helps recipients exit or avoid moving into housing that is inappropriate such as aged care, hospital, or rehabilitation centres.
Thanks to you, 2021/22 saw one of our largest grant funding years ever, with 205 young people given vital funding to support their quality of life and enable them to live fulfilled lives.
Our team provide expert NDIS and SDA advice and links people with appropriate services to identify funding or housing opportunities.
Thanks to you, our friendly and compassionate Youngcare Connect team had over 10,000 conversations with people seeking advice and support in 2021/22. What a year! We could not have done it without you.
Our building program designs and develops age-appropriate housing solutions so young people with high physical support needs can live with independence and dignity in their own homes.
In 2021/22 we provided beautiful news homes in Chermside and Rothwell. Six new residents will be living with the dignity and independence they deserve in the new Rothwell share houses.
Meet young people YOU help
Just before Luke’s 30th birthday, he received a life-changing diagnosis – Huntington’s Disease. Luke was left isolated and living in a remote care facility a six-hour round trip away from his family and friends.
Thanks to your support and caring generosity Luke has moved out of aged care and into his own apartment!
With an At Home Care Grant, Naomi was able to purchase this scooter, which enables her to be self-reliant.
“I am very grateful. This will open up the world for me. Now that I’m not trapped at home, I can engage with the community and not just help myself but also join social and community groups and give back that way as well.”
With the help of a Home Support Grant, funded by you, our generous donors and supporters,
“It was amazing. I got a washing machine and a dryer with your help. Another massive thing was Youngcare arranging a moving truck for me. Being 6 hours away, I wouldn’t have been able to bring much by myself. It helped immensely as it meant another thing that I didn’t have to worry about.”
With an At Home Care Grant, Stephanie was able to secure a disability-modified van. This has enabled Staphanie to get out into the community and do activities that truly fulfil her – art, cooking and horsemanship training
“I can go out more, I can stay independent and stay happy. Thank you!”

Karen Young (monthly donor for 10 years counting)
“Many years ago I heard about David Conry’s mission to find more appropriate housing support for his wife Shevaune. Up until that point, I had no idea that young people like Shevaune were put in aged care facilities. It came as a complete shock and I felt inspired to support this amazing endeavour. I’ve been a regular monthly donor for more than ten years. I’m proud to have been involved for so long. I love what Youngcare stands for and I will continue to support them for the rest of my life.”
Diane Dale (monthly donor for 15 years counting) –
“My reason for continuing to donate to Youngcare on a regular basis as it is very close to home for me. I was in the process of trying to get my son, Cam, back home, from aged care, and find out more about Youngcare’s housing. Sadly, he was admitted to Palliative Care and passed away November 2006. That was it for me I was committed to making sure that I would help. It is an amazing organisation and I will continue to do so.”
David and Jenny –
“The goal at Youngcare is such an important one; to make sure that there is age-appropriate housing available for people who need it. David’s brother had a stroke more that 20 years ago and has been cared for by their mother, who is now well into her 80’s. Still in his early sixties, he would like to be in a care home with people his own age. We need more options available to people his age. We are fairly new donors at Youngcare, but it has been a great experience for us. The donations team at Youngcare are friendly, professional, and really care about their donors.”
